Janie Smith, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on March 5, 2024, in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. She was born on August 26, 1950, to Corey Lee and Carlette Smith.

Janie married Ruddie James and together they had one child, Jayla Carlette, who later married Ruddie J. Janie dedicated her life to her family and was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Janie attended Hugh Morson High School and later worked as a CNA before retiring at the age of 36. Her caring nature and compassion towards others were evident in her work, and she touched the lives of many through her dedication to helping others.

Outside of her work, Janie had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She had a passion for singing and would often be found belting out tunes in the kitchen while cooking up a delicious meal. Janie also loved to talk junk with friends and family, always ready for a good laugh and a lively conversation. In her free time, she could often be found shopping for the latest fashion trends, always looking stylish and put-together.

Janie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and infectious laughter will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
