Janina RedfieldHilton Head Island, SCJanina (Wiesen) Redfield of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away at age 95 on February 6, 2017. Janina was born on June 20, 1921 in Boryslaw, Poland. After the German occupation of Poland Janina survived the Holocaust by escaping from a slave labor camp and going into hiding until the liberation. Following WWII Janina married Isaac Redfield and came to the United States in 1949. She has lived in Newark, NJ, Yonkers, NY, Lake Forest, CA, Alpharetta, Ga and most recently at Bloom at Hilton Head Assisted Living. She loved being outdoors, playing bingo and other games, and being with her family. She is survived by her son, Carl Redfield of Naples, FL and Osterville, MA; daughter, Amy (Redfield) Rubin and her husband, Jonathan of Hilton Head Island, SC; three grandchildren, David Redfield and his wife, Valerie of Lexington, MA, Emily Bergman and her husband, Devon of Oakland, CA, and Diana Pease and her husband, Theodore of San Diego, CA; as well as four great-grandchildren, Judah, Juliette, Melanie and Charlotte. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, CA on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10 am.
