Jason Wernsing, 45, passed away unexpectedly on January 31st, 2023. He was born on August 15th, 1977, in Toledo, Ohio, to proud parents Kathryn and Michael Wernsing.
After graduating from Swanton high school, Jason attended college at BGSU. He then started a career working in the auto Industry where he excelled and became a master of his craft in sales for 27 years. Jason's passion and dedication to his career was evident as he thrived as a District Sales Manager for Hyundai Capital America. His work was recognized and celebrated by his colleagues and clients, where he was known for his professionalism, talent, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Despite his busy career, Jason always made time for the people he cared about especially his wife and kids who he loved more than anything. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, brother, son and a friend to so many. Jason enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whom he loved deeply and with whom he shared many wonderful memories. He was hospitable, compassionate, and considerate to those familiar and estranged. An excellent entertainer, host and cook, he brought great happiness, love and laughter to those in good company.
Jason was a true fan of Chicago sports as well as a dedicated Ohio State fan. He himself, was a talented golfer as well as a basketball player. Some of his favorite times were playing volleyball in the backyard with friends. He also enjoyed all genres of music and loved building playlists and having dance parties with those he loved.
Jason will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Sarah Wernsing, daughter Victoria Wernsing, son Zach Wernsing, mother Kathryn Wernsing, father Michael Wernsing, brothers Mike Wernsing, Rick Wernsing, and Aaron Komon, sister Amy Komon, and his chosen sisters Crystal Lewallen and Beth Showman as well as many other family members and friends. Jason will always be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering spirit. He touched the lives of many and will remain forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Jason's life will be held on April 15th, 2023, at the Swanton American Legion from 12pm-5pm. 200 Hallett Ave. Swanton, OH 43558
