Jayne L. (Van Rooy) Voissem, age 91, of Appleton passed away gracefully, surrounded by her family, on February 1, 2017. In love story fashion, Jayne passed just 15 days after Marvin, her devoted husband of 66 years. Jayne was born on July 21, 1925 to the late J. Martin and Hedwig Van Rooy of Appleton. She graduated from Appleton High School and went on to work at the family's business, Van Rooy Printing, where she met her future husband. Jayne's Catholic faith was important to her. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Parish, Appleton, as well as a charter member of St. Bernard Parish, Appleton. She, together with Marve, was very involved in parish activities.She gladly shared her time, talents and love. Many organizations, including Christ Child Society, St. Bernard's Crafty Ladies, Xavier Food Fair and St. Mark's Parish (Boynton Beach, FL) benefitted from her generosity and creativity. Jayne was a sweet, loving and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a passion for life, treasured her family and enjoyed nature, especially flower gardens. Jayne is survived and will be deeply missed by her five children; Marcia (Jeffrey) Theisen, Lisa (Timothy) Lohman, Beth (Carl) Rippl, Daniel (Margaret) Voissem, Ted (Kari) Voissem, 12 grandchildren; Roslyn Theisen (Sean Brandenburg), Andrew (Cara) Theisen, Daniel (Elizabeth) Lohman, Lauren Lohman (Aaron Safane), Emily Rippl (Laura Williams), Chaz (Jazmyne) Rippl, Charles (Genevieve) Voissem, Philip (Megan) Voissem, Megan (Sanjeev) Patel, Matthew, Molly and Morgan Voissem, 12 great-grandchildren; Oscar, Petar and Calvin Brandenburg, August Theisen, Josephine and Cameron Lohman, Sloan Safane, Taleeya Smith, William, Jocelyn and Sebastian Voissem, Elia and Divya Patel.Jayne is further survived by her sister; Nancy Bodway, sisters-in-law; Janet Keller and Ellen (Geff) Kingston, brother-in-law; James Ferron along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to Marvin, she is preceded in death by her parents; J. Martin and Hedwig Van Rooy, brother; James (Lucille) Van Rooy, sister; Patricia Van Rooy, brothers-in-law; John Emery and Donald Bodway. We would like to thank the many caregivers and staff at Brewster Village for the attentive, tender and compassionate care mother received over the past 3 years. You treated her like a member of your family and for that you will always have a special place in our hearts. A Mass of Celebration for Jayne will be held at 11am, Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 W. Pine St.), Appleton with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may visit the family directly at church on Monday from 9-11am.
