We mourn the loss of Jean McLafferty, who passed away on April 30, 2024, at the age of 88 in Grandview, Missouri, United States. She was born on August 25, 1935, to Joseph and Mary Ellen Boyce.

In 1964, Jean married Michael McLafferty and together they raised three children: Mary Ellen McLafferty, Cathleen McLafferty, and Digna Susan Tancioco-Sunga. Jean was a devoted wife and mother who worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield and also volunteered her time at the Nelson Atkins Museum organization.

Aside from her professional life, Jean had a passion for gardening and knitting. She found joy in tending to her flowers and creating beautiful hand-knit items for her loved ones.

Unfortunately, Jean battled dementia and breast/bone cancer in her later years, ultimately succumbing to these illnesses. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength.

Rest in peace, Jean McLafferty. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
