Jean Lillard, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Bull Run, Virginia, United States. He was born on September 12, 1953, to Robert and Christina Lillard. Jean leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories to his devoted wife of 45 years, Mary Franks, whom he married in 1978.

Jean was a devoted and loving father to his two children, Johnathan (Johnny) and Marvin (Matt), who were the pride and joy of his life. He was overjoyed to witness the loving marriages of his children and the fulfillment they found with their partners. As a proud grandfather, Jean adored his three grandchildren and delighted in their laughter and milestones. His love and support will always be remembered in their hearts.

A dedicated professional, Jean spent the majority of his career as a Historian, using his vast knowledge and passion for preserving the past. Through his work, he was able to shed light on historical events and figures, contributing greatly to the understanding of our shared heritage. Jean's meticulous research and insightful analyses were highly regarded, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and peers.

When he wasn't immersed in historical research, Jean found solace in the great outdoors. Known for his love of nature, he frequently embarked on hikes and camping trips, reveling in the beauty and tranquility of the world around him. An avid birdwatcher, Jean would spend hours observing and documenting the diverse array of feathered creatures that crossed his path.

Jean's kind heart and gentle nature were evident to everyone who knew him. He possessed a natural ability to bring people together and foster deep connections.
