Bivens, Jean A. ,87, passed away peacefully early in the morning of Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Springhurst Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 27, 1930. She attended Spalding University and the University of Louisville and obtained a teaching degree. She taught school for over 30 years at JCPS, grades 1-8. First graders were her favorite. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Martin, and survived by extended family and friends. She traveled the world and always spoke of Hawaii being her favorite place to visit. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday September 15, 2017 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. She appreciated the care she received from Belmont Village , Hallmark House and Springhurst Health and Rehab.
