ANGOLA — Jean Burkett, 76, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola. She was born on May 3, 1940, in Auburn to the late Cecil and Kathleen (McCollum) Albright. She married Kenneth Raymond Burkett on May 8, 1965, in the Chapel in The Garden in Angola, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2005. Jean worked at Lincoln Bank in Fort Wayne and later for Wal-Mart in Angola. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, bowling and spending time with her family at the lake. She was a member of the Angola Bowling Hall of Fame and a member of the Angola American Legion Post #31 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Bauer of Fort Wayne; a son, Brian Burkett of Chandler, Arizona; and three grandchildren, Lauren Bauer of Fort Wayne and Natalie and Levi Burkett of Chandler, Arizona. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home with Dennis Voegele officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.
