Jean D. Scott 1931 - 2017November 3, 2017Jean D. Scott (nee Driscoll) passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017 at the home of daughter, Shelly Donovan, in Fort Myers, Florida. Ms. Scott was born on February 16, 1931 in Montpelier, Vermont, the daughter of Margie and Morton Driscoll, both deceased.Ms. Scott's life ambition was to raise a family and provide a loving home for them; a goal she accomplished with aplomb in her native Vermont. Though she suffered several tragedies in life, notably the death of her first husband and father to her four children, Wayne Cutting, and the unexpected death of her third-born, Jeffrey Cutting, from a traffic accident, she remained resolute in her determination to maintain a stable home life for her family.Her unflinching commitment to family and her unwavering religious faith guided her and earned her the respect and admiration of her family and many friends.Ms. Scott was an active and devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Florida and a long-time resident of the city. She was privileged to have dozens of close friends and spent many an enjoyable afternoon playing Bridge or Gin Rummy with them. Ms. Scott was also an avid reader of historical novels and an unrepentant spoiler of her grandchildren.Ms. Scott is survived by her two sisters, Beverly Driscoll of Tuscumbia, Alabama and Nancy Driscoll of Lebanon, New Hampshire; daughter, Shelly Donovan of Fort Myers, Florida; son, Judson Cutting of Sandwich, Massachusetts; and son, Harry Cutting of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.She is also survived by her four adoring grandchildren: Erin Lucey of Denver, Colorado; Sarah Cutting of Vancouver, BC, Canada; Samuel Cutting of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Samantha L. Ginkinger of Tampa, Florida; in addition to three nieces, two nephews, many cousins and several more distant relatives.
