Jean Zapata Dacumos, 60, died at home peacefully surrounded by loved ones, of congestive heart failure. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at 11 a.m., with a reception at 1 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. She will be laid to rest near her parents at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Rudy Dacumos, Lionel Dacumos, Manuel Mineses, Oscar Zapata III, Oscar Zapata Jr., Louis Bonifacio, Marc Bonifacio, Justin Zapata, Reggie Northcutt, Tom Nera and Richard Mananquil.Mrs. Dacumos was born on Dec.15, 1955, in Masantol, Pampanga Philippines, then moved to Alaska, in 1981, with her parents and siblings. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Jean was a businesswoman who loved cooking, baking and traveling. She owned a successful business, RJ Pastries, for over 22 years. She was well known in the Anchorage community for her delicious Filipino dishes and desserts that others will never compare to. Just like her mother, her magnificent inner strength made her a survivor at all times. Family always came before her and she continuously made sacrifices for others. After her mother's passing, Jean took the role of bringing the family together. Her spirit will live on and she will forever be in our hearts.Jean is survived by her husband, Rudy Dacumos; children and their spouses, Lionel and Monique Dacumos, Janelle Dacumos and Tom Nera and Jamie Dacumos; siblings and their spouses, Grace Zapata, Oscar Zapata Jr. and Leni Zapata, Marissa and Louis Bonifacio and Oscar Zapata III; grandchildren, Natani, Dominick, Taven, Nason, Abriel, Bryson, Abigail, Adrian, Andrei, Rylan, Richmar, Nathaniel, Kiana, Landon, Colin, Sydney, Gavin, Devin, Mia and Kipton; aunts and uncles, Alicia, Julie, Paciencia and Manuel; and in-laws and their spouses, Conrada Dacumos, Nancy and Bambi Rimorin, Helen and Dominador Bautista, Nelly and Mar Ablog and Jun and Julie Dacumos.Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
