Jean Duncan, 82, formerly of Arlington and Hideaway, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, in a Mansfield nursing center. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Hideaway Lake Community Church with Rev. Paul Garrison officiating. Memorials: May be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, 3522 Junction Highway, Ingram, 78025. She was born on Dec. 18, 1933, in Hunt to the late Clarence and Gladys Elizabeth Moore Griffin. She moved to Fort Worth to attend TCU and met her husband James L. "Jim" Duncan, who preceded her in death on July 1, 2015. Jean had previously owned and operated Jean's Thrift Shop in Arlington for over 20 years. She was a member of the Hideaway Lake Community Church, was an avid square dancer and enjoyed playing bridge. Survivors: Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Keith Powell of Arlington; three grandchildren and spouses, Duncan and Amy Powell of Houston, Alex Powell and Ashley of Arlington, and Bailey and Rick Aldrich of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Trip and Ransom Powell; three brothers, Cleve, Yunk, and Pete Griffin.
