Jean E. HardestyMCCONNELSVILLE: Miss Jean E. Hardesty, 92, of McConnelsville passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Highland Oaks Health Center after a short illness. Miss Hardesty was born on February 20, 1923 in Bristol Township, Morgan County. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Richey Hardesty. She worked for Beckett & Gray Insurance for several years and then for Coulson Insurance, Bruce Dye, Agent where she retired in 1994. Miss Hardesty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of McConnelsville and served as a Deacon for several terms. She belonged to the Morgan County Historical Society and was a 62 year member of Valley Chapter #19 O.E.S. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Margaret Hardesty of McConnelsville; four nieces, Janet (John) Wilson of McConnelsville, Donna (Mike) Chitti of Sherrodsville,, Mary Ann Beatty of Greensboro, N.C., Brenda (Dick) Dalrymple of New Concord; a nephew, Ron (Robin) Hardesty of McConnelsville, Patty Beatty (widow of Robert Beatty) of Prestonsburg; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Hardesty Beatty; a brother, Galen Hardesty; and a nephew, Robert Beatty. Friends may call Monday, May 4, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015 a 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barbara Morrison officiating. Jean will be laid to rest in McConnelsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 183 East Liberty St. McConnelsville or to the M. & M.
