AUBURN — Jean Alice (Wones) Faulkner, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Otterbein Nursing Home in Lebanon, Ohio. She was born on March 7, 1930 to Rev. Edward and Willene (Palmer) Wones. Jean spent her childhood years in several small towns in south central Ohio where her father served as a Methodist minister. She graduated from Bath High School in Fairborn, Ohio near Dayton and then attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She graduated in 1951 with a degree in business. Following graduation she worked for the Rike's Department Store chain eventually rising to the position of buyer. She then went to Washington DC where she took specialized courses to qualify for a position in the State Department. She spent four years working at the American Embassy in London, England. She then returned to the United States and attended the University of Maryland and received a degree in Education. She moved to Sedan, Indiana and lived with her grandmother while joining the teaching staff in Auburn, Indiana. There she met her husband Bob and they moved to Pleasant lake, Indiana. She continued her teaching career in Auburn until retirement. She was a member of The Daughter's of the American Revolution. She is survived by her sister Jo Anne Harker of Mesa, Arizona, and her stepdaughter Robin Foster of Angola, Indiana. She was proceeded in death by: both her parents; her husband, Bob; and a sister, Jane Wilson of Lebanon, Ohio. A gravesite service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Pleasant Lake Cemetery in Pleasant Lake, Indiana for family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
