Powell, Jean MarieJean Marie Powell, a resident of Montgomery, AL died on August 1, 2017. She was 86. Jean Marie was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Z. Fuller (Jean Ward), also known as Teeny and Mr. Big, of Opelika, AL, former husbands, Henry Davis, George Noble, and Jim Powell, daughter-in-law Peggy Dessert Davis (John), Birmingham, AL, and granddaughter Lora Jane Burgess (Shariff Roberts Mandala), Baltimore, MD. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Fuller Pickles (Dick), North Canton, OH. and her six children: John Hudson Davis, Birmingham, AL, twin daughters, Jean Davis Burgess (Kathy Casey) and Martha Davis Goodman (Pat Antonisse), Rehoboth Beach, DE, Russell Tyson Noble (Debra Baisch), Birmingham, AL, and twin daughters Lindsay Powell Petty (Larry), Auburn, AL and Nancy Powell Koger (Danny) of Owens Cross Roads, AL. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Kimberly Burgess Min (Royce), Lisa Marie Burgess (Pramod Abichandani), Emily Stewart Burgess, Martha Frances Goodman (Antonio Esparza), John Fuller Goodman (Sara Camenisch), Stewart Brooks Goodman (Marie-Lies Van Asten), Margaret 0'Reilly Martinez (Alex), Elizabeth Davis West (Michael), Brooke Elise Noble, Allison Noble Nelson (Greg), Laura Tyson Noble, Daniel Powell Koger, Mallory Claire Koger, Lauren Manchester Petty, and David Joseph Petty; and 13 great grandchildren: Adero Mizan Mandala, Jaya Mahina Mandala, Henry Hyungi Min, Charles Joongi Min, Antonio Esparza Goodman, Benjamin Esparza Goodman, Martha (Molly) Esparza Goodman, Carlos Esparza Goodman, Jonah Davis Goodman, John David Goodman (David), Asher Taylor Goodman, Adso Goodman, and Xavier (Xavi) Alejandro Martínez-Davis. Jean Marie was born on August 31, 1930 in Opelika, AL to John Zebulon Fuller and Jean Ward Fuller. She attended Auburn University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She married Henry Stewart Davis. They had a son and twin daughters. Later, she married George DeVotie Noble, and they had a son. After his death, she married Lindsay James Powell and they had twin daughters. Jean Marie was employed by Colonial Mortgage for 20 years. After retiring, she played golf and also played bridge at the Montgomery Bridge Club where she became a bronze Life Master. She was an active and dedicated member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She loved classical music, operas and enjoyed her yearly membership to the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. She was also a loyal Auburn fan. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 5th at 2:00 PM at Memorial Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean Marie's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Memorial Presbyterian Church.
