On June 4, 2024, we said goodbye to the one and only Jean Payton of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on April 7, 1947, Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the daughter of Elroy and Hanny, and the loving spouse of Harold for over 50 years.

Jean and Harold raised four wonderful children: Mattie Payton (spouse Dean), Gerald Payton (spouse Ruth), Milly Anne Payton, and Andre Payton. Together, they were blessed with nine grandchildren.

After graduating from Brown High School in 1965, Jean embarked on a fulfilling career at the University of Louisville, where she worked until her retirement in 2000. In her free time, she enjoyed her hobby of knitting, creating many beautiful gifts for her family and friends.

Jean will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
