Jean Stach ParadisOctober 5, 1935 - December 3, 2016Sublimity - Jean, 81, died December 3 in Sublimity. She was born on October 5, 1935 in Drake, ND to William and Lydia (Maier) Stach into a farming family with one sister, Janice. The family moved to the Hubbard/Woodburn area in 1946 and she graduated from Woodburn High School in 1953, and later attended Oregon State University. Jean married Lloyd Paradis on June 18, 1955 in Woodburn and they had two children, Karen and Kenny. She raised the children and was still busy helping in all aspects of running a farm. Jean was an exceptional quilter and was a meticulous painter. She was a serious geneology researcher for 25 years going back many generations, especially on Lloyd's family name. Jean is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Sublimity; children: Karen (Tom) Schenk of Portland and Ken (Margi) Paradis of Canby; and grandson Cody Schenk of Portland. She was preceded in death by her father, William in 1981, her mother, Lydia in 1994, and sister, Janice Ward in 1999. Recitation of Rosary will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am both at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Sublimity. Reception immediately following service at the St. Boniface Parish Hall.
