PARRISHFORT DEFIANCE, VAJean Elizabeth (Wiseman) Parrish, 86, widow of Marvin Parrish, Jr., of Fort Defiance, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Augusta Health.Jean was born on May 9, 1930, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Harry Edward and Laura (Scrogham) Wiseman.She graduated from New Hope High School in 1947. She was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Jean was a co-owner of Pinetop Dairy in Fort Defiance and also a co-owner of Parrish Septic, Inc. in Okeechobee, FL.Jean's hobbies and interests included bird watching, photography, bluegrass and classical music, auto racing, traveling, and reading. She loved wildlife and animals of all kinds. Jean was an active member of New Hope Ruritans and Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine Club as well as an avid supporter of New Hope Fire Department.Surviving family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven T. and Rebecca Joy Parrish of Okeechobee, FL; a sister, Betty Wiseman Meyerhoeffer (Elwood F. Meyerhoeffer) of Verona; a nephew, Dale Meyerhoeffer (Autry Meyerhoeffer) of Verona; and two nieces, Nancy Fauber (Clay Fauber) of Staunton and Patti Jewell (Jerry Jewell) of Verona.A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Bill Davis.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean's memory to Augusta Dog Adoptions or an animal shelter of your choice.The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers of King's Daughters' Nursing and Rehab as well as Augusta Health.Condolences may be sent to the family at
