KINSTON | Jean Garris Waters, 64, of Kinston, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, March 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 13, 1950, in Lenoir County to Ashley and Annie Garris. Jean enjoyed a good time, any Elvis Presley song, laughter and her friends. She was fiercely loyal in her love for her family. She also had made her peace with God and He embraced her to Him for all eternity. In addition to the early loss of her parents, she was predeceased in death by her brother, Robert (Bob) Garris and her infant son, Daniel Lee Waters. She was the wife and best friend to her husband, Danny Waters of Kinston for 46 years. She also had to leave behind her cherished son, Charlie Waters and wife Gwen. Her precious grandchildren are Dalton, Caitlin and Gracie Waters, all of Kinston. The siblings mourn the loss of their youngest sister and they are, Ruth and James Mason of Winterville, Gladys Pierce of Ayden, and Mary Payne of Grifton. Her brothers are A.J. Garris and wife Libby, of Washington, Milton Garris and wife Hazel, of Grifton, and James Garris and wife Jennie Lou, of Ayden. The family is grateful to her niece and guardian, Janet Pierce of Ayden. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, special friends, Debby Sasnett, Sue Moody and Brenda Carraway, along with a host of other friends who mourn her loss. She also leaves behind a special pet, her beloved dog Sugar Baby. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden.
