Jean WilliamsFebruary 18, 1924February 17, 2017WENDELL Jean Strange Williams of Wendell, Idaho, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at her home. She was a day short of 93. Jean was born on February 18, 1924, in Elko, Nevada, the daughter of pioneers Frank Clay Strange and Susie Huntsman Strange. She was raised on a ranch and graduated from Elko High School. At age 18 she joined her sister, Ora, in Oakland, California, and worked as a company bookkeeper. There she met Murrell Williams, and the two were married in 1947. They moved to Washington, then lived in Redwood City and Yorba Linda, California. Jean later moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she was a realtor with Century 21. Returning to Nevada, she was a realtor and licensed broker in the Gardnerville area, earning numerous awards for record sales. Jean retired in 2005 and moved with Ora to Wendell to be near her son Greg and his family.Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Murrell, son Steven, brothers John and Roy, and sisters Lavon and Ora. She is survived by her son Greg (Terrell) Williams of Wendell, grandsons Dylan (Kylee) Williams of Boise, and Simon (Janell) Williams of Wendell. Her great-grand daughters are Harmony Williams of Boise and Gwen Williams of Wendell.Services for Jean are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls. Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Walton's Funeral Home in Carson City, Nevada. Interment will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Genoa, Nevada.
