Jeanette Helen Smith1940 - 2016Jeanette Helen Smith, 75, of Twin Lakes, Wis., died April 4, 2016, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. She was born on July 22, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Ralph and Lorraine (Unruh) Hoener. On Jan. 16, 1965, in Wilmot, Wis., she was united in marriage to John Cecil Smith. She worked as a Postal Worker for the United States Post Office. Jeanette lived in Silver Lake, Wis., most of her life before moving to Twin Lakes. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wilmot, Wis. Jeanette loved to camp for many years and travel to Hawaii. Her joy was singing and teaching the youngest children at Church. She had a large garden at the house on Silver Lake and grew delicious vegetables. She also loved watching the sunsets from the pontoon on the lake. She told many stories of her times volunteering for KAFASI with Daybreak and being a Friendly Visitor.Jeanette is survived by her husband John Cecil; five children, Annette H. Flynn of Twin Lakes, Wis., Joseph J. Flynn of Keaau, Hawaii, Anita (Mark) Morris of Salem, Wis., Maria (Dave) Barr of Verona, Wis., and Thomas (Debbie) Smith of Twin Lakes, Wis. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Dennis, Jessica Rose, Ryan, Maggie, Shanna, Jason and Brandon; one great grandchild, Katelyn; and one brother, Richard Hoener. She was preceded in death by one brother Ralph Hoener, Jr and her grandson, Eric Russell Dahme. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 30100 Wilmot Rd, Wilmot, WI, 53192. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr, Twin Lakes, WI, 53181.
