SPENCERVILLE – Jeanne M. Bissell, 84, died Friday, December 4, 2015 with her family at her side at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne. She was born on February 13, 1931 in St. Joe, to the late Fred & Helen (McCutcheon) Ulm. She married Roy E. Bissell on June 18, 1949 in the Spencerville United Methodist Church Parsonage. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1998. Surviving are one son, Michael (Pam) Bissell of Spencerville, three daughters, Sandra Lechleidner of Butler, Jayme Tatro of Springfield, Ohio, and Cindy (Dirk) Ross of Hicksville, Ohio. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, step grandchildren and adopted grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Rhonda Gump of Hicksville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Buzalski and two sons-in-law, Shurl Lechleidner & Stewart Tatro, and a granddaughter-in-law, Chris Lechleidner Jeanne was a DeKalb Eastern School Bus Driver for many years; member of the Spencerville U. M Church, United Methodist Women, Spencerville Community Quilters, and the Spencerville Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family; doing plastic canvas projects knitting and sewing. She knitted many afghans over the years and when she was shut in during the winter months, she sewed many lap blankets for the quilting group to knot. Calling will be held on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Spencerville United Methodist Church. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Monday at 8 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at 11 am at the church with Pastor Ken Herb officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe. Memorials may be given in her honor to the Spencerville United Methodist Church, PO Box 100, Spencerville, Indiana, 46788.
