Jeanne Carol Cauger Peterson, a 60 year resident of San Bernardino, CA passed away on August 31, 2015. She was born on December 24, 1919 to Arthur Vern and Nina Marietta Cauger in Kansas City, Missouri. The youngest of 5 children including twin brother Theodore, she grew up in Independence, Missouri, moved to California in 1942, settling in San Bernardino in 1944, and lived there until 2004. She met her husband Pete while working at the San Bernardino Sun and they married in 1947. After the Sun, she worked for 26 years at the State Employment Development Department in Redlands. After her husband's death she moved to Santa Rosa. Jeanne was an active member of First English Lutheran Church and later the Lutheran Church of our Savior in San Bernardino, the Women's Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by son, Gary Pritchard-Peterson; daughter-in-law Gayle; grandchildren Devin and Hannah; niece Barbara Russell-Cambra of Petaluma, CA; and her nephew John Finck in Arrowhead Springs. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Pete; sisters Louise and Lucille; and her brothers Arthur Jr. and Theodore. Graveside services will be at Mountain View Cemetery in San Bernardino, CA, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in San Bernardino.
