Jeanne "Tooty" McGinnis, 93, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 where she resided in Ocala, Florida. She was born on February 1, 1923 in Knox, PA to parents, Newton and Carrie Huffman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy F. McGinnis. Jeanne was a lifelong educator receiving her Master's degree in education at the University of Maryland. She taught in AACo. Schools for 33 years as a classroom teacher and later as a Social Studies Resource teacher for the Bd of Ed. She co-authored a Social Studies 4th grade textbook, "Our Maryland". Her passions were her family, traveling, teaching, music, reading and a love of animals. She volunteered much of her free time to the local SPCA in Ocala. She was an active member of the Church of God in Ocala, co-leading the youth group and serving in many volunteer positions. She leaves behind her twin daughters, M. Lynne Andrews (Steve) and Maryne Lynda Fairbanks (David), 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 18 at 5:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1875 Ritchie Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
