Jeannette Hinton died peacefully in her sleep with her son Roger by her side at 1:00AM Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Jeannette had a heart attack Monday morning August 31 and was well cared for and comforted by the staff of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and enjoyed the visits of friends and family on Monday and Tuesday.
Jeannette was born March 25, 1923, a native of Milan, WI. She attended business school in Wausau and then began a long career as a stenographer for the U.S. Civil Service. While working with the War Department in Milwaukee she met and then married Denny Hinton in 1947 and began caring for Denny’s 5 year old son, Roger. Denny’s career in the U.S. Navy took Jeannette on a life long voyage across the U.S. and then to Europe. In retirement Jeannette and Denny moved to Rohnert Park in 1984 and Jeannette became very active in the community and her church, St. Elizabeth Seton. Her support and involvement in community groups included not only her church, but the St. Vincent De Paul Society, Meals on Wheels, Spreckles Theater, Santa Rosa Senior Center and the Rohnert Park Women’s Group, to name a few. Jeannette was a very loving and friendly soul and brought joy to countless others.
If desired, donations may be made in Jeannette’s name to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, or one of the many other fine organizations that she supported.
You can to the family or in memory of Jeannette Hinton.
