Jeffery Lynn MeeksAug. 17, 1941 - Aug. 28, 2017SalinasJeffery Lynn Meeks, 76, of Salinas, California, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born on August 17, 1941 in Salinas. Jeff grew up in a hard working blue collar family in Alisal and had a real drive to succeed in life. He graduated from Salinas High School in 1960 and continued his education at Hartnell College, Fresno State, and U.C. Berkeley. Jeff's career began with the Credit Bureau of Salinas. Through his hard work and determination, built Credit Consulting Services, Inc., the largest and oldest collection agency in the Tri-County area. Jeff was well respected by his peers within the industry and throughout the community.Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ina Mae Meeks, and brother, Robert (Bob) Meeks and sister in law, Joan Meeks.Jeff leaves loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 29 years, Debbie, as well as daughter, Mallory Mae Meeks, son, Rodney (Christine) Meeks, and three deeply cherished grandchildren, Madison, Caroline, and Lindsey. He is survived by brother, Steve (Debbie) Meeks of Bakersfield, CA, sister, Charlene Close (Kenny) of Coarsegold, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family on Saturday, September 2, 2017, 1:00-3:00 pm at Corral de Tierra Country Club, 81 Corral de Tierra Road in Corral de Tierra.The family would like to express heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Dr. James Dacus, Dr. Harlan Grogin, Dr. Mario Cole, Dr. Kelsey Gray, Dr. Frank Ganzhorn, the staff and nurses of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for their care and support during Jeff's final days.
