Jeffrey Paul Herman RACINE Jeffrey Paul Jeep Herman, 67, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 10, 2016. A lifelong resident of Racine, he was born on March 5, 1949, the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret (nee: McCauley) Herman. Jeff graduated from St. Catherines High School in 1968. On April 11, 1970 he married the love of his, Renee Rago at St. Rose Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2010. Jeff proudly served his nation with the US Air Force form 1969-73. After an honorable discharge Jeff began a long career in construction; working for various companies throughout the area before retiring. He was also a longtime member of the Cement Masons Union. Jeff loved the outdoors; especially the time spent in Crivitz with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed by his sons and daughter, Jerry Swanson, Sherry Lein, Scott Herman all of Racine, Rick (Michelle) Herman of Sturtevant, Sean (Amanda) Herman of Racine; his five grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, and Tyler Herman, Robert and Brayden Lein; his sister, Joanne Favro, of Ft. Myers, FL; his brothers, Jerry (Lois) Herman of Racine, James Herman, of Crivitz, and Joseph Herman of Stedman, NC.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Jeff was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Herman, Janet (James) Swanson, Judy (Jerry) OBrien and sister-in-law, Georgiana Glaspie. Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 for a visitation and time to meet with his family from 4:30 6:30 p.m. A service honoring and remembering his life will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. A private interment with military honors will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. A heartfelt thank you extended to Jeffs special cousins and friends, John and Theresa McCauley as well as Kathy, Heather and Tami from Seasons Hospice for the loving care and support that was given to Jeff and his family during his illness.
