HAMPTON - Jeffrey R. Noel, age 52, died Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Portsmouth Hospital after a brief illness, with his sister Laurin by his side. Jeff was born on March 20, 1964, the last of four children born to Cecelia H. Noel and the late Richard C. Noel. Jeff spent most his life in the Seacoast area, graduating Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine. Jeff also attended classes at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and then returned to the Seacoast to work at the Chase Home for Children in Portsmouth, N.H. Jeff worked for many years at One-Way Landscaping in Greenland, N.H. He enjoyed his work with One-Way, and the opportunity it provided to work outside and with a wide variety of clients. Most important to him were the strong relationships he had with Corky and Pete, partners of One-Way. Jeff was a profound thinker and a life-long learner. He loved animals, and was an avid reader with a deep interest in religion and philosophy. He also wrote poems, enjoyed photography and taught himself to play guitar. He liked nothing better than a good debate or a philosophical discussion. He lived life on his own terms, and loved a good joke. He had a quick wit and loved to laugh! His friends described him as a 'fierce friend', one who was beyond loyal. Last, but not least, he was a devoted son. Jeff is survived by his mother, Cecelia H. Noel of Hampton, sisters, Tami Noel of St. Thomas, VI and Laurin Noel of Greenland, N.H., a brother Richard J. Noel of Exeter and brother-in-law, Jim Buyak of Greenland, along with nieces Jessica Buyak-Couture, her husband Mark Couture and their daughter Anna, Jamie Lee Buyak and her fiancé Jesse Braley, and nephews Michael Buyak and Alex McFarlane, as well as special friends, Joanne and Dale, Corky, Pete, Vinny and numerous Facebook friends including Anita of Australia.
