GLEN ROCK Jeffery W. Krout, 70, died Monday October 12, 2015 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Beverly Ann (Hartman) Krout. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hanover St., Glen Rock, with Military Rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Edward Robbins. Jeff was born on March 25, 1945 in York, a son of the late William B. "Sonny" and Gloria C. "Granny" (Jones) Krout. He graduated from Susquehannock High School and was a proud U.S.
Army Veteran of the
Vietnam War. A machine operator, he retired from Key Plastics in Winterstown and prior to that had been employed with AMP, Inc. and for many years at the former AMF Union Machinery Division in Glen Rock. Jeff was a life member of the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 where he served as the Historian for many years and of the New Freedom
VFW Post #7012. He also was a member and Past President of the York County Fireman's Association and member of the Prince AA Club, York. A sports fan he enjoyed NASCAR Races, Penn State and Steelers Football, York Revolution and especially Glen Rock Baseball, and also loved fishing. Jeff is survived by a son, Kevin C. Krout and wife, Tara of Felton; two grandchildren, Avery and Tessa Henise; two sisters, Pamela E. Spangler and husband, Tom and Karen S. Landis and husband, Dave; a brother, Douglas K. Krout and wife, Gail, all of Glen Rock; sister-in-law, Sharon L. Krout; brothers- in-law, Bradley F. Hartman and Keith L. Hartman; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Gregory A. Krout. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Glen Rock Historic Preservation Society, P. O. Box 102, Glen Rock, PA 17327.
