JENNIE M. BIRKHOLZ, 98 FREEPORT - Jennie M. Birkholz, 98, of Freeport, went to be with her lord on Sunday June 15, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Center. Jennie was born on April 1, 1916 in Freeport, the daughter of Albert and Grace (Viel) Birkholz. Jennie worked at Crum and Forster for 28 years retiring in July 1979. She was a member of Baileyville Baptist Church, Jennie was Director of the Lincolnaires (Lincoln) Tower Choral Group). Jennie was very active in her church and she enjoyed spending free time working on crafts. Surviving are her brother Marvin (Reet) Birkholz of Forreston and sister-in-law, Betty Birkholz of Salem, Oregon. Jennie was preceded in death her parents and two brothers, John and Harold Birkholz, and sister-in-law, Amanda Birkholz. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Baileyville Baptist Church. The Rev. Alan Cassel, pastor will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be in Cranes Grove Cemetery.
