This obituary is administered by:
Jenta WyattIndian Harbour BeachJenta Rae Wyatt, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida on December 29, 2016. Jenta was born on July 25, 1935 in Chrisman, Illinois as the youngest daughter to the late Edwin Boone Kendall and Maerene Mason Kendall.Jenta was a remarkable woman by any standards. She believed in the importance of education and lifelong learning. She achieved her Masters in Education from Rutgers University after obtaining a Bachelors in Home Economics from McMillen University. Upon completing her coursework for her PhD in Education while working full time and raising three children as a single mother, she decided not to write her dissertation but direct her energies towards raising her children and improving the lives of others. Her professional career began as a home economics high school teacher in 1970 in South Brunswick, NJ. After obtaining her Master's Degree in Education, Jenta taught Vocational Education in Danville IL from 1974-1978. Growing weary of the cold Midwestern winters, Jenta relocated to Florida in 1978 and continued her professional life as Home Economics Extension agent for the Florida Cooperative Extension Services in Wauchula. In addition to being instrumental in founding the Consumer Credit Counseling Services office in Marion County, Jenta served as chairman of the Board of Directors for CCCS. Upon retiring from CCCS, she transitioned into the Public Relations Agent for CCCS in the state of Florida. Her later career was devoted to Personal Financial Management for seniors who could no longer live independantly.Jenta believed you should be an active part of the change you wanted to see in the world. She didn't just join a club or professional organization, she served on the board of directors or as an officer of the board. Among her accomplishments as a very active member in numerous professions associations, Jenta served as President of the National Association of Extension Home Economists and Florida Association of Extension Home Economists, Pilot Club President and on their Board of Directors, as well as serving as an officer in the World Organization of China Painters, President of Florida Porcelain Artists Association, and in service in numerous officer positions and on the board of directors for both her Ocala neighborhood and her Indian Harbour Beach neighborhood. Her pastimes included playing Mah Jong, Canasta, porcelain painting, zentangles and travel.Jenta was also known for her encouragement and support of the people in her life. She was intuitive about the people in her life, calling with encouraging words, reassuring you when you needed support, wisdom in the face of adversity, calming words in moments of chaos and always with loving kindness. With a love for travel and adventure, Jenta could have her bag packed at a moment's notice. She has visited over 35 countries and 40 states including a trip to Scandinavia in 2015 for her 80th birthday and not surprisingly was planning more travel in 2017.Jenta is survived by her sister Marnita Kendall Carli of Lake Mary, Florida. She is admired and adored by her three children, Kerry Ray Wyatt (Brenda), Charissa Rae Wyatt, Elizabeth Rae Wyatt, three grandchildren Melissa Lientz Green (Lee). Dustin Lientz (Katie), and Alex Wyatt, as well as 2 great grandsons Nolan and Henry.A memorial service will be held at Beach Funeral Home - East on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at 11am.  Online condolences may be left at beachfuneralhome.com.
