It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerin Joshi, an aspiring amateur boxer and beloved member of our community. Jerin passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 21.
Jerin was born on March 13, 2003, in Rochester, England, where he spent his early years surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. From a young age, Jerin showed a determination and resilience that set him apart. His passion for boxing began as a teenager, and it quickly grew into a pursuit of excellence. His dedication to the sport, hard work in training, and unyielding desire to succeed were evident in every step he took.
Though Jerin was still early in his boxing career, he was already a rising talent in the local amateur boxing scene. He was known for his speed, his agility, and his powerful presence in the ring. But it was not just his athleticism that made him special—it was his character. Jerin was a kind-hearted, humble, and disciplined young man who always made time for others, whether that meant offering encouragement to a fellow boxer or lending a hand to someone in need.
Jerin’s spirit and enthusiasm were contagious, and he inspired all those who knew him, from family and friends to teammates and coaches. His determination to improve, both inside and outside the ring, left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
Jerin's tragic passing has left a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him and in the legacy he built through his passion for boxing. Jerin’s dedication to his craft, his unwavering work ethic, and his genuine love for life will be remembered forever.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, and a wide circle of friends who will miss his infectious laughter, his boundless energy, and his kind soul.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Church, with details to follow. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ABC Strood in Jerin's honor.
Rest in peace, Jerin. You fought with heart, and you will never be forgotten.
