Jermiel was born to Shannon Thinodeaux and Kirk Joseph. He was Shannon's only child.

Jermiel grew up in the city of New Orleans and attended Fortier High School.  He graduated at the top of his class and went on to work in construction.

Jermiel is preceded in death by his grandmother, Audrey May Charles, and grandfather, Richard Thibodouex. He also leaves behind his son and daughter along with a host of sisters and brothers.
