Jerome Legette, was born January 19,1973 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of eight born to the blessed union of Earlene Legette and Jerome Chatman.

Jerome received his education through the Detroit Public Schools System where he attended Cooley and Redford High Schools. Jerome also attended Glen Mills School in Philadelphia. Jerome received the Lord at an early age, but by his teenage years he dedicated his life to the Nation of Islam. As a member of the Nation of Islam, Jerome would go on to be a mentor to many young brothers. Forever the learner, his love for cooking led him to receiving his culinary certification.

Fatman was a very loving, caring, and silly person. He had a very charismatic personality and a magnetic sense of humor. Fatman knew how to move a crowd with his voice, rather it be with laughter or it be with his well known music YBS music. He will always be remembered for his uplifting boisterous spirit. He loved all the children and of course all the children loved him. Once he became a father he dedicated the majority of his time with his children.

Jerome " Fatman " Legette made his transition from life to eternity at the beautiful age of fifty-one years old. He was preceded in death by three siblings; Maurice Middlebrook, Jeronimo Reed, and Kimberly Chapman-Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Earlene Legette and his father Jerome Chatman. He also leaves to cherish his legacy his five children; Aiden Legette, Ciara Legette, Aaliyah Legette, Amir Legette,and Cameron Legette. Fatman is also survived by his loving siblings Lonnie, Shunta, Demita, Danielle,Daniel, Danielle ( Lady ), Melvin, Starisha, Quan, and Jakita. His amazing Pickles ( nieces and nephews) and a host of aunts and uncles; and other relatives along with his YBS family.
