Jerry Johnson, of York, South Carolina, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 89.

Jerry was born on February 6, 1935, and grew up in Oakland county. He attended Oxford High School, where he graduated in 1953.

After high school, Jerry proudly served in the Air Force as a Private First Class in the 82nd Airborne unit for 4 years during the Korean War.

Throughout his life, Jerry worked as a finished carpenter, showcasing his talents in wood working. He had a passion for creating beautiful pieces and his craftsmanship was admired by all who knew him.

In 1989, Jerry married the love of his life, Laurie Johnson, and together they had 6 children: Scott, Annie, Jim (who is married to Amy), Scott (who is married to Maggie), Kendra, and Jim. They also have 7 grandchildren.

Jerry will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family, and his dedication to his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
