Jerry E. KurtzZANESVILLE: Jerry E. Kurtz, 74, of Zanesville, died at 6:00p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Genesis Hospice- Morrison House. Jerry was born on December 31, 1938 in Dayton, a son of the late John Edward and Beatrice Jackson Kurtz. He retired after 33 years of service from Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital as a nuclear medicine technician. After retiring Jerry worked ten years at Pick-N-Save bagging groceries. Jerry was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints and is a U.S. Army Veteran. Surviving are a son, Damon Kurtz of Zanesville, two daughters, Kathy (Dusty) Bee of Zanesville and Krista Morehouse of Columbus; a step-son, Jeffrey Morris of Pittsburgh, PA; a step-daughter, Joan Butts of Wooster; seven grandchildren, Haley Kurtz, Gavin and Gage Bee, Byran, Christopher, Amanda and Jared Butts; one great granddaughter, Annalisia; a sister of the home, JoAnn Vandenbrink of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Harris Kurtz. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, OH, and one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, 3300 Kearns Drive, Zanesville, OH 43701. Jerry will be laid to rest next to his wife, Anita at Zanesville Memorial Park.
