Long, Jerry T.Jerry T. Long, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2016, at St. Paul Home with his wife by his side. Jerry was born on August 30, 1932, to Loyd and Margaret (Lear) Long in Logansport, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Beverly Knox at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette, Indiana, on September 1, 1957. Jerry was a veteran having served in the US Army. He was a Boy Scout executive prior to becoming an employment counselor for Wisconsin Job service at Fox Valley Technical College. He served others as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts of America and was a deacon at Kimberly Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and genealogy and was the president of the Fox Valley Genealogy Society. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, and those times will always be treasured. Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverly Long; three children: Cynthia (Randall) Greil, David (Eli) Long, and Margaret (Christopher VanGompel) Long, grandchildren: Eric (Jessica) Gebhardt, David (Izamar Virafuentes) Gebhardt, Katherine (Sean) Nack, Victoria (Joshua Wakely) Basler, Laura Long and Daniel Long; great grandchildren: Thomas and Sophia Nack and soon to be Griffin Wakely, and sister Sharon Lyst, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Jerry will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Monticello, Indiana, on Monday January 16, 2017. Online condolences may be expressed at
