Jesse F. WhittonMILTON, Ind. - Jesse Frank Whitton, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Ind. Jesse was born on July 28, 1930, in Wayne County, Ind., the son of the late Pleasant Harvey and Geneva Smith Whitton. Jesse was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1948, and lived in the Milton community most of his life. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jesse served in the United States Army from July 1950 until August 1953. Jesse worked as a computer programmer at PRC Recording and Tom Raper Inc. in Richmond. He enjoyed geneology research and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Centerville Christian Church. Jesse is survived by two sons, Larry (Patty) Whitton of Senica, S.C., and Paul (Theresa) Whitton of Carthage, Tenn.; three grandsons, Kevin (Jennifer) Whitton of Chicago, Ill., Michael Whitton of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jesse R. Whitton of Dublin, Ind.; sister, Louetta (Darrell) Swearington of Cambridge City, Ind.; sister-in-law, Artie Allen Brown of Cambridge City, Ind. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dessie "Dee" Whitton on Dec. 16, 2003; two brothers, James Monroe and Robert Lee Whitton. Services will be on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, Ind. Burial will follow at the Westside Cemetery in Milton. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 .
