Jesse "Pete" PresleyJune 22, 1923 - October 21, 2017Eugene - Pete Presley was born on June 22, 1923 in McNary, LA to Ollie L. and Odessa M. Presley. He passed away on Oct. 21, 2017.He attended school in Texas and Burns, Oregon where he graduated in 1941. Pete attended University of Oregon for a short period before being called into the Army. Pete served in Europe with the 1st Allied Airborne Army. After his discharge, he enrolled at Oregon State College. Before he could graduate, he was recalled as an officer in the Korean War where he served as an Infantry Company Commander. Pete continued his studies at Oregon State University where he obtained his teaching and Administrator certificates in education after his discharge in the Korean War. Pete was employed by the Salem School District as a teacher and Principal until his retirement in 1982.Pete is survived by his children Dianne (John) and David (Jolie); two grandchildren, Shelby Murray and Payton Presley. Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, of 62 years on Oct. 2, 2017.A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the City View Cemetery in Salem.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
