Brooks was born on December 21, 1923, in Bulloch County, Ga., and went to be with his Lord on November 5, 2017, in Bossier City, La. Brooks had a zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan who had a special love for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing and shrimping in the Georgia coastal waters. Brooks loved tending to his flowers and working in his yard. He even helped his neighbors by keeping their yards up as well. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, William Fred and Maggie Williams; his wife, Mary Frances Williams; his brother, James Warren Williams; and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Linda W. Alford (Roger); his granddaughters, Nikki Alford Stuart (Joe) and Christina Alford Rinaudo (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Katherine and Caleb. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous family and friends. The family would like to express thanks to Rhonda and Jean and the staff of Hill Cross Hospice for taking such good care of Mr. Williams. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017, in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with the Reverend Earl Best officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
