Jessie "Nana" Munoz, 79, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 in Yuma, AZ. She was born on April 4, 1934 in Yuma, AZ. Jessie graduated from 8th grade at Mary Elizabeth Post. She was a fine jewelry salesperson, including Kornfelds Jewelers, Robert Orr and J.C. Penney's. Retiring from J.C. Penney's. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, waiting for a phone call from her son Eddie every Sunday morning, doting on her husband and being "nana" to all who walked though her door. Jessie is survived by her husband Tommy Munoz Sr., of Yuma; sons, Eddie (Lea) Munoz of Litchfield, MN, Ernie Munoz, Tommy (Rosa) Munoz Jr. of Sacramento, CA, and Mike Munoz of Gilbert, AZ; daughters Sahbreena Munoz, Sahreena (Mike) Mendoza and Teddy Munoz all of Yuma, AZ. Also surviving are her sisters, Margaret Santa Cruz, Rosie (Charlie) Gonzales, Cookie (Johnny) Jaramillo, and sister-in -law Lucy (Tony-deceased) Ponce all of Yuma, 11 grandchildren plus anyone who walked through her door, 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are her parents, Rodolfo and Ruth "Cuca" Ponce; sister, Vera (Raul) Perez; brothers, Tony Ponce and Rudy Ponce. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5PM to 9PM with rosary at 7:30PM with Deacon Oscar Chavez officiating. Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 1PM with Monsignor Richard O'Keefe. Private cremation will follow. Pallbearers will be Eddie Munoz, Ernie Munoz, Kent Spease, Chris Troy, Mike Mendoza, Craig Ponce, Gilbert Miranda and Gregg Ponce. Honorary pallbearers are Ruiz Munoz, Jess Munoz, Justin Ponce, Joshua Ponce, Anthony Santa Cruz, Stephanie Foss, Sharli Gonzales, and Chanel Gonzales. Jess, Mom, Nana, we love you and we know that you are now at rest. We will cherish all the wonderful times and special memories. They will never be forgotten.
