Jesus Gallegos Mendoza, 72, of Taos Street, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Carlsbad. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church. Father Martin Cordero will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (new section). Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at San Jose Catholic Church. There is no visitation. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Jesus Gallegos Mendoza was born on May 30, 1944 in Bosque Bonito, Chihuahua, Mexico to Calistro and Agustina (Gallegos) Mendoza. Jesus loved spending time with his family and enjoyed taking care of his farm animals. He was a lifelong farm hand and spent his last years working in the oilfield. Jesus was preceded in death by his father, infant son Manuel Mendoza and grandson Sergio Marmolejo. He is survived by his loving mother Agustina Mendoza; 2 sons: Jesus M. Mendoza and wife Martina of Carlsbad and Hector Mendoza and wife Heather of Oklahoma; 5 daughters: Yolanda Mendoza and husband Julian, Arcelia Mendoza and husband Miguel all of Oklahoma, Lorenza Mendoza and husband Pablo and Marisol Mendoza and husband Rodolfo all of Midland, TX and Pilar Mendoza and husband Juan of Oklahoma; 8 brothers: Calistro Mendoza of Roswell, NM, Ricardo Mendoza, Anastacio Mendoza and Manuel Mendoza all of Carlsbad, Lorenzo Mendoza of Seminole, TX, Demetrio Mendoza of Hobbs, NM, Jose Mendoza of Jal, NM and Enrique Mendoza of Hobbs, NM; 4 sisters Esperansa Campolla of Ft. Hancock TX, Josepha Martinez of Jal, NM, Luz Lopez of Carlsbad and Lucia Lopez of Midland TX; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Jesus, Hector and Rojelio Mendoza, Ivan Rojas, Pablo Marquez Jr., and Jesus Rivera. Honorary Pallbearers will be his brothers.
