Jesusita V. Lovato, 96, a resident of Las Vegas passed away on Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014.She was born on June 11, 1918 in Maes to Elena Romero and Cecilio Sena. Jesusita married Andres Lovato in 1945 and was widowed in 1995. Jesusita was known for her homemade tortillas, bread and delicious meals that always gathered family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing, listening to music and socializing with her friends and the senior citizen center. We will always remember her as a daring woman who rode a dune buggy in Farmington, went horseback riding at the age of 89, and would have ridden a Harley with her son-in-law if her daughter Margaret would have let her. She was always up for adventure wether it be traveling to Carlsbad, shopping, or spending time with her grandchildren. Jesusita is preceded in death by her husband, Andres; son, Leroy (Indio) Lovato, brothers, Cecilio Sena Jr. and Manuel Sena; sister, Florida Madrid; brothers-in-law, Alfonso Chavez, Henry Chavez, and Joe Madrid; sisters-in-law, Santos Sena, Carolina Sena, and Rose Chavez.She leaves behind her beloved children, Lawrence Lovato and wife, Joann, Margaret Sanchez and husband, Wallace, Lucy Yeley and husband, Dave, Andres Lovato and wife, Susan and Cecil Lovato; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Eloy Sena and two sisters, Erlinda Chavez and Angelina Chavez.Funeral services for Jesusita are as follows: rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. George Salazar at 9 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
