Jewel Rhodes, 91 passed on to heaven, February 6, 2017 in Alamogordo, NM. She was born on February 11, 1925 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Osburn and Olgia Bradley.She was proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Zebedee Rhodes; son, Harold Rhodes; daughter, Olgia Herring and son-in-law, Ulysses Herring ; father, Osburn Bradley, mother Olgia Bradley; four brothers, Roscoe, Osburn Jr., Robert and Zack Rhodes, and grandson, Andre Rhodes.Survivors that will cherish her memory include her son, Zebedee Rhodes Jr., (Patricia), Sister, Roxie Ford of Saginaw Michigan, granddaughters, Rene Harris (Terrance) and son- Anthony J. Singleton, Kelly R. Rhodes-children Larry Netherly, Lacey Rhodes, Dorryan Fisher, grandsons, Terrell L. Rhodes (Daphne) - children Jared and Deja Rhodes, Christopher Herring (Tanaasha)- children Grayson and Braylon. Wynter Rhodes daughter of Andre Rhodes. Adopted daughters Cleo Davis and Mary Hunter and a host of family and friends.During Mrs. Rhodes 91 years, she touched countless lives for Christ and lived a full life. She was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church for 59 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Mission Society and Deaconess. She was a member of the New Hope District and State Women's Auxiliary. She was an active member and raised funds for the . She was a member of the Christian Women's Club. She received accolades in the community with an honor of "Women of Merit".The Rhodes family will greet friends and family from the community from 10:00 am on February 15, 2017 at the Corinth Baptist Church, 400 Delaware Avenue. Services will begin at 11:00 am. Pastor Joe L. Callahan will officiate services. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
