Jim G. MyersWEST PEORIA - Jim G. Myers, 73, of West Peoria passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 11:36 a.m. at his residence. Jim was born on September 15, 1943, in Tulsa, OK, to Elmer G. Myers and Thelma F. Turney. Jim is survived by his daughter, Virginia "Ginny" (Christopher) Berry of East Peoria; siblings, Patty (Robert Nix) Potter of Pisgah Forest, N.C.; nephew and nieces, Joshua (Nicole) Potter of Jersey City, N.J., Randy (Kim) Myers of Wood River, Susan (Stephen) Paulo of South Sutton,N.H., Paula Parsons of Lehigh Acres, FL, David (Thelma) Myers of Florida and Christy Johnson of Russellville; sister-in-law, Jenny Parsons of Lehigh, FL; dear friend, Colleen Hobbs of West Peoria; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and several cousins.Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne B. Myers and Elmer G. Myers; nieces, Cheri, Sandy, Cindy and Jinnifer Jo; and friend, Diane Gunter. After attending Woodruff High School, Jim served his country in the United States Air Force. He then spent his career working as a printer for Fleming-Potter.Memorial contributions may be made to the AMVETS Peoria Post 64.Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
