James "Jim" E. Saenger, 65GlenwoodJune 20, 1951 - Feb. 27, 2017Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James "Jim" E. Saenger, 65, of Glenwood who passed away peacefully on Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. David Grundman will officiate and entombment will be in Assumption Mausoleum, St. Cloud. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM until the time of services on Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.Jim was born on June 20, 1951 to Richard and Beverly (Carlson) Saenger, in Minneapolis. He grew up in Circle Pines and graduated from Centennial High School in 1969. Jim proudly served his country in the
United States Navy during the
Vietnam War from 1971 to 1975. He did three tours of duty on the U.S.S. Flint. On May 5, 1979, he married Karen Korman at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Jim graduated from the University of MN, Duluth in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He was employed as an Insurance Underwriter for Great American Insurance in Kansas City, MO and later by Traveler's Insurance in St. Louis Park, MN. Jim enjoyed the great outdoors and liked to do a lot of camping and hiking in his younger years. He also loved traveling with his wife and family throughout the United States and Europe. Jim especially enjoyed Sweden; exploring his Swedish ancestors and travel on cruise ships. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.Jim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen of Glenwood; siblings, Larry of St. Paul, Linda (Doug) Lier of Blaine, Suzanne Bristor of Blaine, Joseph (Diana) of Perham, Judy (Al) Marano of Ham Lake; father and mother-in-law, Art & Emily Korman of St. Cloud; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gloria (Greg) Notch of Avon, Tom Korman of St. Cloud, Jan Lochner of Sauk Rapids, Debbie (Tim) Connelly of Minnetonka; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Paul Lochner.
