Funeral service for Jimmy C. Owens, 79, will be Monday, December 5, 2016, at 11:00 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Steve Johnson will officiate and Doug Stanfield will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park. His family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. Mr. Owens passed away at his home surrounded by his family members on December 2, 2016. Jimmy was born on December 16, 1936 to the late William and Edith Owens. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. Mr. Owens was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Riverside for the past 16 years. He was employed by Winn Dixie for 45 years. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. His survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Smith Owens; daughters Kim O. Ledbetter (Rusty) and Jill O. McMichen (George); 5 grandchildren, Jarred (Tonia), Kayla (Josh), Kendra (Kyle), Logan and Kylie; three great-grandchildren, Mady, Kinley and Blakely; four sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
