Jimmy HardegreeColorado City, TXJimmy Hardegree, 84, Colorado City, passed away in Lubbock on Sunday, July 9, 2017 with his family by his side.He was born on December 23, 1932 in Winters, Texas to Herbert and Nora Clayton Hardegree. While in grade school Jimmy and his family moved from Winters to Colorado City where he stayed and graduated from Colorado High. After graduation Jimmy attended barber school in Ft. Worth then returned home to work for a month until he was drafted by the Army in 1953. Upon his honorable discharge in 1955 he came back to Colorado City to continue his work as a barber, where he would serve the community for over 60 years. In 1956 he met the love of his life, Rita Conaway whom he married on June 30, 1956 in San Angelo.Jimmy is survived by his wife Rita Hardegree, his sons Brent Hardegree and wife Stacey of Douglasville Georgia, Greg Hardegree of Abilene, and Blake Hardegree and wife Roxi of Lubbock, by his grandchildren Jerrod Hardegree, Jacob Hardegree, Christopher Hardegree, Kevin Hardegree, Luke Hardegree, Taylor Hardegree, Mary Martinez, and Elizabeth Young, and by 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings CT Hardegree, Ailene Hamner, Craig Hardegree, Kenneth Hardegree, and Wanda Hitch.A funeral service for Jimmy will be held on Friday, July 14th at 10AM at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home, interment will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
