We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jo Cooley Hoffman, on November 8th, 2024 in Shady Shores, Texas. Jo was born on February 28, 1966 and originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Jo was the beloved daughter of Charles Ray Cooley and Billie Sue Cooley. She was the loving wife of Jon Andrew Hoffman, with whom she was married for 35 years. Jo is survived by her husband Jon, two children, Jenny and Jillian, as well as her two adoring grandchildren.
Jo studied at Bonnabel High School and graduated in 1984 before continuing her education at the University of Southern Mississippi then University of Texas Arlington. She pursued a career as a Nurse then Cardiology Nurse Practitioner, dedicating her life to helping others in need. She was a social butterfly with all her patients, loving her for the authentic interest and concern for each and every one of them.
Outside of her work, Jo had a number of hobbies that brought her joy and true happiness. She loved gardening, keeping chickens/geese, spending time in nature, crafting, baking, doing home projects with Jon, and traveling, especially cruising. Above all, she cherished spending intentional time caring for everyone around her and her three furry friends; Chewbacca, Bagheera, and Lola.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and continued growing in her faith with her devotion to serve others for years in BSF, in church and on missions trips. She loved teaching others, especially the youth about God and his free gift to all of us. Jo's presence and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the memories of those she touched.
