Joan Warren, also known as the life of the party, has passed away at the age of 81 on April 16, 2023. Born on December 4, 1941, in Middleburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Peggy Lynn Gasteyer.
She met the love of her life, James Sr. Warren, who sadly passed back in 2020, and together they had three children: Daniel Warren with spouse Emerson, Richie Warren with spouse Maddie, and Dena Edwards with spouse Kyle. Her family was the light of her life, and she was always eager to share stories about how proud she was of each and every one of them.
Joan was known for her infectious spirit, quick wit, and love for a good time. She filled any room she was in with love, laughter, and joy, and she will be missed greatly by all those who knew her.
In her free time, Joan enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. She loved to try new things and explore new places, always looking for the next adventure. She was an active member of her community, and she enjoyed volunteering her time to help those in need.
Unfortunately, Joan lost her battle with Lymphoma on April 16, 2023. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace and no longer suffering.
Services will be held this Thursday (April 20) and Preston and Sons of Manassas. With a funeral service at 11am and a one hour visitation prior. Interment will follow to Sharon Cemetery in Middleburg where Joan will be buried with her husband in the family plot. A reception will be held back at Joan’s house at 1:30pm for everyone to get together and talk about the good times.
Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the family. Arrangements being handled with love and care by Funeral Director Tonya Sanderson.
Joan leaves behind her beloved children, five grandchildren, and 2 great grand babies, who will always carry her love and spirit with them. Rest in peace, Joan, and know that you will be in our hearts forever.
