ANGOLA — Joan Jean Dilyard, age 82, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with her family by her side. She was born on Nov. 12, 1933, in Hillsdale, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Hartis (Smith) TenEyck. They preceded her in death. She formerly lived in Hillsdale, Michigan. She married Ray Dilyard on July 1, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1995. She was a member of the Ashley Church of God. She was the greatest Mom in the world to her family, and she enjoyed baking, and made great cinnamon bread. She also enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns, she liked doing word search books, and was an avid reader. Survivors include her nine children, Diana Carr of Angola, Indiana, Dean Dilyard of Coldwater, Michigan, Dennis (Sharon) Dilyard of Hillsdale, Michigan, Dawn Sutherland of Washington, Jack (Sue) Dilyard of Jackson, Michigan, Jerry (Tom) Adams of Fremont, Indiana, Ray (Nancy) Dilyard Jr. of Osseo, Michigan, Tim (Pam) Dilyard of Jonesville, Michigan, and Kevin (Toni) Dilyard of Reading, Michigan. Also surviving are her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers, Jack (Ann) TenEyck of Hillsdale, Michigan, and Jerry (Carmen) TenEyck of Montana, and a special friend, Ruth Gay of Angola, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Jim TenEyck. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Ashley Church of God, 101 N. Gonser St., Ashley, Indiana, with Pastor Robert Neace and Pastor Ken Brinkman officiating. Memorials are requested to the Ashley Church of God.
